About Translation
Better than the Original
Of course better needs to be qualified. The original Beowulf manuscript on the right is certainly better than its translation, but I don't understand the original Old English.
I need a translation to understand what it says.
And in this respect, a translation is better than the original document, because it conveys your message in a form that can be understood by those for whom it is intended.
