Recently, a client needed the translation of a complex online help system and documentation for a broadcast-class series of digital video equipment, amounting to several tens of thousands of words in time for DTP, mastering and duplicating the distribution media before the holidays.
The original files were being produced in a number of formats, including Adobe FrameMaker, HTML, XML, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word, and a number of significant changes were expected during the course of the project, as the firmware was itself being finalized.
By leveraging advanced CAT technology and by keeping close track of in-work changes I was able to deliver the Italian translation on time, retaining the formats of the original files, to make it easier for the subsequent stages of the project.
